Typically, they feature two beams that are separated with a bar in the middle. Likewise, they can be made of stainless steel or other materials and are ideal for parts counting and pallet trucks.

However, it's important to note that some pallet beam scales only have the beams. You would position them manually based on what you were weighing. Generally, these can be a little more dangerous to use because the beams might move while you're lowering pallets down to weigh them.

A U-frame scale has similar flexibility as a weigh beam scale. However, the two beams are affixed to a crossbar. Therefore, they're always the same distance apart when weighing pallets.

Alternatively, pallet beam scales can have a crossbar between them or a wire. Sometimes, there are two slim beams that can be separated and put wherever is needed for large items.
