SL-925 Crane Scale — Frequently Asked Questions

What capacity SL-925 do I need?

Choose a capacity rating at least 25% above the heaviest load you plan to weigh. For example, if you regularly lift 15,000 lb loads, the 20,000 lb SL-925 gives you headroom for overload spikes and shock loading. If your loads vary widely, size to the largest job you expect to handle in the scale's service life. If your heaviest loads stay under 3,000 lb, see the lower-cost SellEton SL-924 medium general purpose crane scale.

What is the difference between the SL-925A and SL-925B?

Both models share the same chassis, capacity range, accuracy, weighing functions, and remote control accessory. The SL-925A uses a high-visibility red LED display ideal for low-light shops and longer viewing distances. The SL-925B uses a backlit LCD display, which is easier to read in direct daylight and draws less battery power. Choose based on your lighting conditions and viewing distance.

What does the included remote control do?

The SL-925 ships with a remote control accessory that lets you operate the scale without having to reach the front panel. The remote handles zero, tare, unit change (lb/kg), and clear-measurement functions from a distance — useful when the scale is suspended overhead and the operator is at ground level. Important: the remote controls the scale only; it does not display weight readings. The weight is shown on the SL-925's main LED or LCD display only.

How long does the battery last?

A fully charged SL-925 battery provides extended cord-free operation. Charge the battery fully for 10–12 hours before first use to prevent low voltage from initial leakage. To keep the battery in best condition, fully discharge and recharge once per month. An AC adapter is included for continuous-duty applications. Remove the battery if storing the scale for an extended period.

Is the SL-925 NTEP legal-for-trade?

The SL-925 is built for industrial weighing applications and is not currently NTEP certified for legal-for-trade commerce in the United States. For legal-for-trade crane weighing, contact our team for NTEP-approved alternatives in our crane scale lineup.

Can the SL-925 weigh in kilograms?

Yes. The SL-925 switches between pounds and kilograms at the touch of a button — press the 2nd key followed by Zero to toggle units, on either the scale itself or the included remote control. The selected unit is shown by indicator LEDs (SL-925A) or on-screen icons (SL-925B).

What is the accumulation function?

Accumulation lets you weigh multiple loads in sequence and total them up. Weigh the first load, press ACC to accumulate, remove it, then weigh the next load and accumulate again. When you've added all loads, press F1 to display the total. The display shows the number of weights in the total along with the cumulative weight. Use the DEL key to clear the last entry or all accumulated weights. This is especially useful for tallying truck loads, scrap totals, or batch shipments.

Does the SL-925 come with calibration weights?

The SL-925 ships pre-calibrated from the factory. Field re-calibration requires test weights equal to at least 10% of the scale's maximum capacity (more is better for accuracy). The full calibration procedure is included in the user's manual.

What is the warranty on the SL-925?

The SL-925 is backed by SellEton's manufacturer warranty against defects under specified operating conditions, plus U.S.-based technical support, calibration assistance, and an OEM replacement program.

Does the SL-925 qualify for free shipping?

Yes — all SL-925 heavy duty industrial crane scales ship free to all 50 U.S. states. Contact us for international freight quotes.
