SellEton Scales and Farm & Ranch Connection Partner for Iowa Ag Expo Raffle — SL-920 Veterinary Scale Awarded to Southeast Warren FFA

SellEton Scales and Farm & Ranch Connection Partner for Iowa Ag Expo Raffle — SL-920 Veterinary Scale Awarded to Southeast Warren FFA

At the Iowa Ag Expo in Des Moines, SellEton Scales partnered with Farm & Ranch Connection magazine to give something back to the agricultural community that has supported our brand from the beginning. The result: a raffle giveaway for expo attendees, with one winner receiving a free SellEton SL-920 Veterinary Scale.

That winner turned out to be exactly the kind of organization we had hoped would benefit most — the Southeast Warren FFA Chapter, based in Liberty Center, Iowa.

The Iowa Ag Expo is no ordinary trade show. Held annually at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, it ranks as the third-largest indoor agricultural show in the United States, spanning 7.25 acres across three buildings and hosting nearly 700 exhibitors from across the country and Canada. From big iron and precision agriculture technology to livestock production supplies and autonomous equipment, the expo draws thousands of producers and agricultural professionals from across the Midwest each February.

For SellEton Scales, a company built around serving the needs of farmers, ranchers, veterinarians, and agricultural operations, the Iowa Ag Expo represents exactly the kind of community we want to show up for. This year, we did that alongside Farm & Ranch Connection magazine — a regional publication dedicated to covering the stories, people, and businesses that make Midwest agriculture run.

Together, we hosted a raffle open to expo attendees, with the SellEton SL-920 Veterinary Scale as the prize.

For organizations and farms that need to track animal health, medication dosing, and growth rates over time, having an accurate, dependable scale on hand isn't optional — it's fundamental to good livestock management.

The Winner: Southeast Warren FFA Chapter

The raffle winner was the Southeast Warren FFA Chapter, based in Liberty Center, Iowa, and the selection couldn't have been more fitting.

Southeast Warren FFA is one of Iowa's most active and respected agricultural education programs. The chapter, led by advisor Alex Rodgers, currently ranks among the fifth-largest FFA programs in the entire state, with nearly 200 members. What makes the program stand out isn't just its size — it's the depth of community investment behind it.

Over the past several years, the Southeast Warren FFA has built an animal learning center on campus to give students — many of whom don't have their own farms or land — a place to raise and care for livestock. The chapter has focused on expanding access: ensuring that students from all backgrounds can participate in hands-on livestock education, whether they come from a farming family or not. That inclusive approach to agricultural education has made Southeast Warren a model program within the state.

The chapter competes in livestock judging, agronomy, soils, and leadership development events at the state level, and has received recognition for its community partnerships and alumni support network. Their track record of fundraising for a large animal barn addition — raising over $37,000 through community donations — reflects the kind of dedication that makes an FFA chapter truly stand out.

SellEton Scales would like to formally congratulate the Southeast Warren FFA Chapter on winning the SL-920 Veterinary Scale raffle. We'd also like to thank:

  • Farm & Ranch Connection magazine for co-hosting and exhibiting at the Iowa Ag Expo
  • The Iowa Ag Expo organizers for putting together one of the country's premier agricultural events year after year
  • Every attendee who participated in the raffle and stopped by to connect with us at the show

We look forward to future opportunities to support agricultural education and the communities that keep American farming moving forward.
